The picturesque Juggs in Kingston is an idyllic English pub situated at the foot of the South Downs.
Named after the fish-carrying baskets used by fishwives on their way to market, the 15th century pub boasts stunning views across the Sussex countryside. The impressive garden has seating for 250 customers, as well as an undercover seating area known locally as ‘The Inside Out’.
Inside the pub are original oak beams and a log fire in winter, creating a cosy atmosphere. There are two bar areas and two restaurants, serving restaurant quality food for up to 75 people. Customers can also choose to eat outside.
The smaller Garden Restaurant can be hired for special occasions and seats up to 25 people.
There’s an extensive drinks menu with more than 20 wines to choose from and a selection of Shepherd Neame’s award winning ales and lagers.
The Juggs is popular with ramblers, with access to the South Downs only a short walk away, and tourists visiting the nearby historic town of Lewes.
From September to April The Juggs hosts a curry evening on Sundays and on Christmas Day there’s a special carol service held in the pub. With strong community ties the pub also helps out with prizes for the primary school’s raffle and runs the bar at the local summer fete.
.On Saturdays and Sundays food is available all day
